Leeds indie quartet Alt-J won the prestigious Mercury prize this week for their album "An Awesome Wave".

The four-piece - who met at Leeds University in 2007 - beat Field Music, Jessie Ware and Richard Hawley to win the £20,000 Mercury Music award.

Formerly known as FILMS, the band collected the award at the Roundhouse in Camden.

Alt-J tour the UK in May 2013 with a date in Leeds on 10th May.
