This is an archive of the band profile for Climbing Alice.

''One of the most essential live bands to burst out from the North of England in the last few years.''

Climbing Alice is the dissatisfied and snarling pop dream of Levente Macsay, Thom Buckley and Tom Craggs. Tired of worn out scenes and clique bred social anxiety, Climbing Alice is the trio's Alt Popp knife stab at musical 'cool'.

''Dragging the underground up to the surface with its feet kicking and its arms swinging'' - Wakefield Music Press

''Climbing Alice are the sullied, sweat stained successor to The Cribs and Biffy Clyro's love angel. From the grinding love fuzz of opener Chicken Feet to the epic canyons of Ration With A Passion's choral delights, grab your carabiners.'' - LDN Rhythm Rag

Born out of the final days of previous project Suilven and a mutual love of Wakefield College's DIY ethic, the three piece began work on songs mid March 2015. Wide ranging influences such as The Cribs, Bloc Party, Basement and Silverchair gave them the foundation for their vibrant and ramshackle live shows, which subsequently saw sell out performances around Huddersfield, Leeds and Wakefield.

On the back of this live success it was announced on 11th November by Philophobia Music that they would be releasing Climbing Alice's debut E.P. Melt Yourself Up in January 2016..
