This is a review of "Untitled" recorded by K.O.Kaine. The review was written by Richard Garnett in 2003.

In their own words "K.O.Kaine are a post-modern flurry of anger guitars, tormented words, hellish shrieks and bastardized beatings" Fair enough! They certainly crank up the adrenalin and have a right good shindig, unfortunately it is too often at the expense of tune or creativity. The confused modern metal offerings provide moments of rawk and moments of yawn.

"Freefall" is gritty rock & roll balls out fun, but instantly forgettable. "Sick" passes in an equally fiddly set of time signatures and wibbles up and down the fret board. Apart from sounding like they forgot to master it "Time Heals Over" begins to lose the thread and "Cut me" not only sounds like the mastering was forgotten but also like it was recorded through a sock.

With the obvious energy and ability fed in to this CD, you know that live these guys are king of the hill, but getting that energy to work on record relies on the songs being of equal appeal. Unfortunately for now they're not.
